4th of July

Growing up we always went to Old Glory Days in Riverdale for the 4th of July but now that we have family member's in parades our traditions have changed. The night before my parents stake had rented the aquatic center so everyone went and then Jacee, Oakley, and Addisyn came home with me to have a sleepover. Oakley always wants to spend the night at my house but when she does she always ends up crying when she gets tired because she misses her mom and dad.  Luckily Jacee was able to get her to lay down and she was asleep with 5 minutes. As much as I love to have them spend the night my bed isn't big enough for all of us. I ended up laying on the very edge of the bed and then I woke up in the middle of the night to find Oakley laying on my half hanging off the bed.  I was planning on getting up early and getting ready and then getting the girls up so I could get them ready but things didn't exactly go as planned. We woke up an hour late and only had 20 minutes to get ready before Larissa came over. Our first stop of the day was Plain City's parade. We made it to the parade with plenty of time to spare but then we forgot Jacee's tumbling at my house and had to run back. We really didn't need to go back to my house because Ann had another pair of gloves but I couldn't find my phone so she couldn't call me. My dad and Cody ran in the 5K and we had planned to go watch them cross the finish line but I don't know my way around Plain City so we decided to just go sit and wait for the parade to start. The Silverline was in the parade and they did a great job they actually danced in front of us. We also got to see my Cousin Holly's kids in the parade because they're officers at Wahlquist and Fremont. Our next stop was Hooper parade to watch Jacee tumble for the dance studio. Hooper does their parade later than most of the other cities which is nice because we can go to mutiple parades but it also sucks because it is super hot by the time the parade starts. After the parade I was supposed to go shopping with Whitney for her outfit for Silverline pictures but I went home and took a 4 hour nap instead. When I woke up I waas finally able to find my phone and my mom told me that everyone was at Dave and Lesa's house swimming so I headed over their while Adam headed to the Real game.

Zoey is definitely a morning person.
Dayton having a grea time at the parade.
Oakley hates loud noises so she had her hands over her ears for most of the parade.
Parker got to drive the ambulance.
You can see both Whitney and Sloane in this picture which is awesome because they weren't standing close together.

Waiting for the Hooper parade to start. Whitney was happy to be in the shade instead of dancing in another parade.
Here is Jacee showing off her tumbling moves.
Dayton seemed hot so I took off his clothes.

An Egg-celent Time!!!

My dad's family doesn't get together to often but Robyn organized an easter party and it was so fun to get everyone together. The day of the party was freezing so I was not too sad when I was first person to get out in the egg roll. They decided to have a pinata instead of an egg hunt and it was definitely a success. The kids all got way too much candy and were great about making sure that all the little kids got candy too.

I think that competitiveness runs in the family. Stacie is beating up Jason for breaking her egg in the egg roll.

Volleyball

I didn't realize that I had never posted these pictures. I think that everyone knows that volleyball is my favorite so when my work annouced that they were having a volleyball tournament I was super excited. I was a little nervous because Adam was playing on my team and sometimes we struggle to play sports together because I am super serious and want to win and if he messes up I get super annoyed. I realize that I am really mean when playing sports but when I am actually playing I have a hard time controlling my need to win.  We did pretty well and ended up losing to a team that we shouldn't have lost to but it was still fun and I hope they have the tournament again next year.

Ups and Downs

I usually don't write much about feelings on my blog but it's been a rough day and it's only 11 am. Yesterday was an awesome day I got good news at work and Robyn found me a general dentist office to finished doing my externship hours at. I just finished working 50 hours at an orthodontic office and I wish that I could just do all of my hours there. The people were so nice and I really liked working on the braces and helping people get beautiful straight teeth. I think that if I work as an assistant I will definitely try to work in an orthodontic office. Robyn is an awesome sister she is always so helpful first she found me an orthodontic office to go to and then she found me a general dentist office to go to. She did a lot of work to find the general dentist office she had to call a lot of places and I really appreciate it. It's funny that I hate talking on the phone and calling people when my job consists of talking on the phone. Because yesterday was awesome it's was fate to have today suck to balance it out and fate is definitely working hard to make today suck. My day started out with me being late to work and then I got two horrible phone calls. I don't understand how people think that it's OK to be mean to others just so that they can get their way. Do people really think that they are that much more important than other people that they can just do or say whatever they want just to get what they want. If someone understands why people feel this way please explain it to me. The one thing that I have to look forward to is dinner with my Mom and one of my best friends. Sorry that this post is kind of scatterbrained I just needed to write. I do have some fun stuff to post about like Flowrider and Softball.

I'm Back

I finally finished the semester and since I'm not going to school during the summer I might actually have time to blog. I will start posting as soon as I stop forgetting everything because my brain is so fried from finals and I have to learn to walk again (I fell up the stairs twice yesterday).

Fiddler on the roof!

Last Monday I got to go to see my cousin Whitney in Fiddler on the Roof. She did a great job and even had a couple of solo singing parts. The play was a bit boring for me (probably because I had a book that I had just bought that I really wanted to read) but the singing was amazing. I was really impressed that kids in junior high could sing so well. It was so great to see all of the support for the play. We had to save 20 seats just for my family and the play started 30 minutes late because they had to keep setting up more and more chairs for the people that just kept coming. Everyone always tells me that Whitney and I are a lot alike and I definitely agree but the one thing that is not alike for us is that I would never be brave enough to get up in front of people and sing. Enjoy the pictures courtesy of Robyn.

My Day in Court

Way back in June I was with my mom coming home from a birthday party and we decided to stop at Wal-Mart. When we left Wal-Mart we were driving west on 21st street and all of a sudden there were a huge truck right behind us that started honking. He was so close that all we could see was the grill of his truck and the headlights. We thought that it might be an emergency vehicle and there was someone in the other lane so we couldn't change lanes so my mom just pulling into the median. As the truck came flying by we noticed that it wasn't an emergency vehicle and this mad my mom really mad because he was driving very recklessly and if he hit us could have done some major damage especially since Addisyn was in the back seat. My mom followed the truck trying to get his license plate number so that she could call and report him and he ended up going on the road by the Outlaw Saloon which is a dead end so I was freaking out because the truck was going to have to turn around and come back towards us. My mom quickly turned around and pulled into a parking lot so that we could still see the truck which eventually pulled into the parking lot of the Outlaw. A car pulled up next to us and asked if we were OK they explained that they had been the car in the other lane and had witnessed the whole thing. They also said that the truck has been driving recklessly since Harrison Blvd. My mom called the police and they came out and talked to us and asked if we wanted to press charges. We decided that we would press charges because if they had hit us all of us could have been killed since the truck was so large. They had us write up our statements including the car that had witnessed the whole thing and the officer (who looked like he was 12 years old) let us know that we may have to go to trial if since we pressed charges but they are usually a couple of months behind so we wouldn't hear anything for a couple of month if we ever heard anything at all.

7 months later I got a call from Robyn who told me that my mom had gotten a subpoena for the trial. The next day was my day off and I got my subpoena and we were set to go to court the next Tuesday. I was able to stay pretty calm going to court because I clearly remembered what happened. I was actually kind of intrigued by the idea of going to court since I have seen it on TV so often. The only thing I wasn't excited about is having to get up early on my day off to go to court. When I arrived they just had us sit in the court room until it was our turn. We got to listen to all of the cases the were before ours and it was very interesting. I definitely don't ever want to be on the other side if I ever have to go to court again. If you are being accused of something you basically have to air your dirty laundry in front of everyone. After about an hour of waiting the city attorney called our names and he talked to us about what was going to happen and asked us to tell our stories for him. When our trial started my mom got called first and was sworn in as a witness (it was very official) and I could tell that she was nervous. I got called next and made sure that I answered the questions without rambling and I was done quickly. Good thing I took that dreaded public speaking class last semester so I was prepared to speak in front of people. The guy who had been driving the truck basically sealed his own fate when he said that he was following only one car length behind us. The judge found him guilty of following too close and he has to pay a fine. It was definitely an interesting experience but probably not something that I would want to do again. I didn't take any pictures because I had my phone out at one point and the guy sitting next to us told us that the judge had taken someone's phone away earlier so I decided to just keep my phone in my purse.
