Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we always have a party with my Mom's family since we don't get together on Christmas. This year we played bingo and let me just say I will not be going to Vegas anytime soon I am so not lucky. I was the last person to win at Bingo I finally won when there were only three numbers left to call. When you won you got to pick a bag with a prize in it and you could look at what was in it but you couldn't tell anyone else. When you were picking your bag you could either choose one from the table or steal someone else's bag. By the time that I finally got to pick a bag they were all gone off of the table so I had to steal one from someone else and people were trying to hide their bags so I couldn't steal it. I did end up with a bag and Adam was one of the lucky few who ended up with two bags so he shared his second bag with me and I ended up walking away with $5.00.They referred to this as the loser table because no one on this table was winning at bingoThey referred to this as the winner table because everyone on this table had won at least once before anyone on the other table won.The young peopleThe old people

Christmas Presents

I just have to brag a bit. I am not a crafty person and when I try to make something homemade I usually end up getting stressed out and call my Mom crying because its not working out like I imagined it but for Christmas I made 5 homemade presents and 4 of them turned out really well so I was super excited.First for the failure I made oakley's hat too big so I guess she can just grow into it or become a cone head and it will work perfectly. We decided that she looked like Marge Simpson or The Bride of Frankenstein.Addisyn loved her hat and scarf that I made and the hat really did fit just not with her ponytails and big bow that she had in her hair. I guess that I didn't get a picture of the other presents but I made two aprons for Addisyn and they turned out really cute. I will have to see if someone else got a picture of the aprons that I can steal.

Christmas

I am so sad that Christmas is almost over it is my favorite holiday and I look forward to it for so long and it seems like the day just goes by too fast. I had no idea what I was getting for Christmas and was so annoyed that I couldn't get anyone to tell me. I only had two presents from Adam so that made me even more curious. When we opened presents he only brought me one present which is a thing that I can plug into my computer so that I can record TV shows onto my computer since we don't have cable right now and I opened it and then he acted like we were done and started to get breakfast. I didn't say anything about the other present still under the tree for about five minutes and when I finally said something about it he just tried to act like he had forgotten all about it. It was a new laptop I already had a laptop but my new one is way better. It has a built in Camera and microphone so when we were over at my parents we were able to get on Skype and do a video chat with my aunt Linda in Canada. My niece Addisyn was so funny when she was opening her presents she was just opening them as quick as possible but she had to make sure that every piece of wrapping paper was off of her presents. When she finished opening all her presents she decided that she needed to open Oakley's too. Then we went to My aunt and uncles and had dinner is was nice to just get to hangout with some of my cousins on my Dad's side of the family because it seems like I don't get to see them that often. It was a great Christmas and now I guess I will just have to start looking forward to next Christmas. My dad trying out his new golf club which he picked out and bought for himself.Poor little boy sitting in the corner no one wanted to play with him.I had to be unsocial and try out my new game. I wanted to play it two weeks ago when Adam bought it but he wrapped it before I could play it and yes I did change my shirt I didn't get any new clothes until we went to my parents so I changed once I opened my clothes there.

Proud New Owners

Our Kia has been having problems ever since we got it so we thought that it would be a good idea to get a new car before we had to register the Kia in January. Before we went shopping Adam told me that no matter what we were not going to get a car that night that if we found something that we liked we were going to just think about it for a while before we made a decision but we came home with this.I couldn't get a good picture of it because of how it was parked and it was freezing so I didn't want to move it. It a Subaru Impreza and I love it. When we were at the dealership it just felt right and we got a really good deal.

Hayride and Fantasy at the Bay

I am a little behind because we don't have the internet at our house so I have to go to my parents to post. Every year we go on a hayride through Layton park to see the Christmas lights and then we go to Fantasy at the Bay out in Willard to see the lights their. The hayride only cost to dollars and the money is all donated to different charities plus its nice because everyone can look at the lights because no one has to drive.

House warming gift

On Black Friday there was a drill on sale at Kmart and my Mom got one and told me that it was for Andy. When we were at the store I mentioned to my mom that I would like one of them for Christmas because we had to borrow my Dad's drill to put stuff up at our new house and she totally ignored me. Then the next day when I was at my parents my Dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him "I wanted one of the drills that was on sale at Kmart yesterday and I told Mom and she totally ignored me." Then when we were leaving the pizzeria they told us they had something for us and when we opened the house warming present that they had it was the drill. They had been lying when they said that it was for Andy it had been for us the whole time we had a good laugh about it when I fill Adam in on the story of telling my parents that I wanted a drill.

Black Friday

I am definitely not a morning person but I love to shop so on Black Friday shopping always wins over sleeping. This year I had to work but not until 11:30 so I was still able to go shopping. I really only needed to get one thing at the first store I went to but I went to at least five stores after that with my family. We lucked out and everyone found everything that they wanted. When we were done shopping we went to get pretzels at Pretzel Maker; I think that this is the only reason that my mom goes shopping because she hates shopping. By the time I finally had to go to work I had already been shopping for 7 hours and to make things worse since everyone was still out shopping no one was calling into my work I thought that I was going to fall asleep at my desk but luckily I made it through the day and had Saturday and Sunday off to catch up on my sleep. As I am writing about going to get pretzels after shopping I am thinking back to my other posts and I am realizing that almost every tradition my family has involves food.

Christmas Parade

We always go to the Christmas parade in Ogden the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We took Oakley to the parade with us since her parents had gone to get Christmas trees, and she loved all the lights on the floats but when there was a lull in the parade and nothing was in front of us for her to look at she would start to cry. This year my cousin Whitney was in the parade and when we yelled her name she acted like she didn't know us. I told her Dad that he should make her pay for her own dinner since she shunned us. After the parade we went to the Ogden Pizzeria it

Moving

We finally moved into our house after waiting for what seems like forever. It is so nice to be able to spread out all of our stuff. We have been staying with my parents for about a month and I am so grateful for them allowing us to stay with them but it is so nice to have our own space again. Adam asked his friends to help us move and they were very efficient and had us moved in no time. I hardly helped out all because I felt more in the way than anything. Once I get unpacked I will post pictures of the finished product but for now here are some pictures of us moving. Ok so none of the pictures actually show us moving they are all of us eating after we finished moving.

Christmas trees

Last year we went with Cody's family to cut down Christmas trees. This year my family decided to continue that tradition but we decided to go the Saturday before Thanksgiving instead of the Saturday after Thanksgiving so that we can go to the Christmas parade the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We drive up past Evanston to the Wasatch National Forest and we buy passes and then go hike out into the forest to find the perfect Christmas tree to chop down. Unfortunately both years that we have gone Adam has had to work so I was on my own. Last year was pretty scary because the road was really icy and cars were sliding everywhere this year its wasn't really too icy except for when we got into the parking lot where we buy our passes. Right after we drove into the parking lot my car started to slide on the ice I thought that I was going to run into some rocks but luckily we stopped soon enough to miss them.We always take family pictures when we get up into the trees and since Adam had to work these two had to fill in as my family. This is me carrying my tree after we chopped it down.Whitney missed the memo that the green coat people were getting their picture taken. We had to stop for some Wendy's after all our hard work of cutting down the trees.

Thanksgiving

I would have to say that Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it kicks off the Christmas season and I love Christmas. This year for Thanksgiving we went to my aunt and uncles and as always there was plenty of food. It is a Thanksgiving tradition that after dinner we all sit around and look at the ads for the black Friday sales and make our Christmas lists. Oh and let me just add that if anyone knows Santa Austin wants Miley Cyrus for Christmas so could you please put in a good word for him. When they were trying to do chew and show for the picture Whitney's food fell out of her mouth it was so funny.

Pie Night

For 30 years my Mom's side of the family has had the tradition of pie night. The night before Thanksgiving we all get together and eat pie because everyone knows you don't have enough room to eat pie on Thanksgiving after you eat dinner. Before my grandma passed away she used to make all the pies for pie night which was about 30 pies, but now everyone just brings a pie or some kind of dessert with them. I was a little disappointed this year because there was no banana cream pie which is my favorite. At pie night we always play dodgeball in the backyard no matter how cold it is. I would have to say that this year was a success because no one got hit in the face with the ball.
This is the wall of shame. This is where the losers sit when they get out in dodgeball.

House update

So we are set to close on our house today at three they have switched the date at least 20 times and I'm not even exaggerating. So I will have more pictures to post soon unless they change the date again and they better not do that because I had to return my tickets for New Moon. I bought my tickets two months ago and they just happened to schedule our closing at the same time as the show I had tickets for. I am a little bummed about that. The one plus is that we had to go to Salt Lake to get our money back for the tickets since they were for the Megaplex at the gateway and since we had already driven down there we decided to go to the best restaurant in the world The Spaghetti Factory.

Hooray for the Yankees!!!!

I may not watch a ton of baseball but I have always been a Yankees fan so I was really excited when the Yankees won last night. This morning right after I got to work I got an email from my managers that was sent to all of the supervisors in our department. The subject was FYI so I opened it expecting to read some really important information and this is what the message say.......I just wanted to let everyone know - and I know that most of you don't really care, however,

THE YANKEES WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!

Hip Hip Hooray for the Yankees!!!

It was a great email to get first thing in the morning and made me laugh.

Softball

So I mentioned a while ago that I have been playing softball and even though it is practically winter we are still playing. We got rained out a few weeks so we are trying to make up those games and we still have the tournament to play. Last night we played after about a month of being rained out and I was so annoyed. The person who is in charge of our team is awesome, she always makes sure that we are going to have enough people and if people can't play then she finds people to cover for them. Well last night we played at 9:30 and it was freezing and to top it off two people that said that they were coming didn't show up so we had to play two people short. I was so annoyed because if they would have just said that they weren't going to come then we could have easily found two people to cover for them. I told my dad about it when I got home because I was so annoyed and he said that even though he is trying to be retired from softball he would have come to play with us because he knows how annoying it is to be short and Robyn came to watch us play so she could have easily played if she would have known but because we thought that we were going to have enough people we didn't tell her to wear clothes that she could play in. I wish people would just do what they say that they are going to do.

Another Halloween party

Jenn and Ryan had a Halloween party and it was tons of fun. I'm not really the biggest fan of Halloween and I don't like to dress up but Jenn told me that I couldn't come to her party if I didn't dress up and then she informed me that there would be bean dip and Cheese soup which are two of my favorite foods so I decided that it was worth it to dress up. I decided last minute that I wanted to be a fairy so being the good Mom that she is my mom stayed up until two in the morning helping me make my costume. I also got help from Andy, Brittany, and Adam so I guess you could say it was a group effort. Adam was trying to keep his costume a secret from me but as he asked me to get things that he needed I figured out what he was going to be. He was Edward from Twilight. He was a very good Edward and he even had the Zune box hooked to him playing the Twilight theme song all night.

Moving

This weekend didn't have a moment for rest. We had to be out of our apartment on Saturday so we spent part of the day over there cleaning. My Mom pointed out something that I had already thought about while I was cleaning she said "isn't it funny that we will clean for other people to live there but that we won't clean that well for ourselves to live there". I thought that it was so funny and so true I guess in my case money was the motivator I wanted to make the place super clean so they had no excuse for not giving our deposit back.I'm a good supervisorWaving goodbye
